The Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria have rejected the list of minority leaders released by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
In a press statement by the party's National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP said it has duly written to the Speaker of the House of Representatives after consultation with the minority leaders in House of Representatives.
PDP automatically rejected the list released by the Speaker of the House of Representatives notifying him of members who have been selected for leadership positions in the House of Representatives in line with dictates of the rules and parliamentary practice.
However, "to our utter dismay the PDP have discovered that the Speaker have smuggled in names other than those recognised and forwarded to him as leaders of minority in the House of Representatives" the party said.
The party frowned at what it described as abuse of the rules and parliamentary practice and procedures as well as convention.
PDP however, cautioned the Speaker against his action and urged him to respect the rules and read the list submitted to him by the leadership of the PDP.
The party releases the list it forwarded to the Speaker for the avoidance of doubt.
1. Hon. Kingsley Chinda - Minority Leader.
2. Hon. Chukwuma Onyema - Deputy Minority Leader.
3. Hon. Yakubu Barde - Minority Whip
4. Hon. Muraina Ajibade - Deputy Minority Leader.
