Netherlands celebrate king's day wearing Orange Costumes.
April 27 is a national holiday in the Netherlands when the king's birthday is celebrated. The king's birthday is celebrated on April 26 if 27th April is Sunday.
The date marks the birth of king Willem Alexander who will turn 52 years old this year. Until in 2013 during the abdication of Queen Beatrix, the holiday was known as Koninginnedag or Queens day meant to be celebrated on April 30.
Since the national holiday began in 1880's, 2014 was the first year to celebrate the famous national holiday as king's day after 2013 coronation of Willem Alexander. The first Dutch king since 1890.
Activities such as, Alcohol and Wine gathering, wearing of Orange Costumes, Partying, Concerts and Flea Market are seen everywhere including Amsterdam, the Hague and Rotterdam.
