Residents of Oyigbo local government area of Rivers State has been under siege by the military over the week. Information has continued to surface with evidences of residents being arrested through un-authorised house to house search by soldiers at Afam district of Oyigbo. The governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike had on Wednesday 28th October 2020. Signed an executive order reinforcing the ban of the group and also directed security agencies and the Chairmen to fish out and deal with any member of IPOB in the community following the unrest in Nigeria after the killing of unarmed protesters at Lekki toll gate on 20th of October which affected some parts of country including Rivers State.
