Biafra: Living At The Edge Of Igbo Land We Escaped Kwashiorkor~Chife


This popular picture of Biafran infants taken shortly after the war shows one of the survivors who have grown to become prominent.

Dr Aloy Chife, is one among the children who suffered and survived kwashiokor during and after the Biafra war. 

Dr Chife was five years old when the war ended, according to Chife when he shared his story with Nigerians.


He said, "I was 5 when the war ended. For a whole year after the war, during lunch break, they matched us to local dispensary".

"You extended two cupped palms and received some protein powder so we don't die of kwashiokor".

"Living at edge of Igbo land we escaped kwashiokor".

"I'm Igbo and i'll never forget that" he said. 

Chife who hails from Anam in Anambara State, is married to a beautiful Kenya's Gesare Chife.


Today he's an Entrepreneur, Humanist, and a philosopher.

Ihedioha (L) at the Oguta Lake Motel and Golf Resorts  The governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has visited Oguta Lake Motel and Golf Resort on inspection as part of the effort to rebuild Imo State.
