Nigeria- Africa Most Populous Country Records Its First Case Of Coronavirus In Lagos



The Federal Ministry of Health has on February 27, 2020. Confirmed a first case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lagos State.

According to the Minister for Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire, the case is an Italian citizen who works is Nigeria and returned from Milan Italy to Lagos Nigeria on February 25, 2020.

" The patient was confirmed by the Virology Laboratory at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control".

" The patient is clinically stable with no serious symptoms and is being managed at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba Lagos" the Minister said.

Recall that Eberechy's blog has on 24th January reported about the outbreak of this SARS-LIke virus also known as COVID-19. Coronavirus, a deadly virus with its first outbreak in Wuhan China has spread to about 36 countrie living many dead and devastated business with affected countries like China the epicentre of this virus.

However, the Health Minister assured citizens that the Ministry for Health has already started working to identify all the contact of the patient since his entrance to Nigeria.

The entire public are hereby advised to maintain adequate health hygiene by Keeping the following processes.

1. Regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water, and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

2. Maintain 1.5 meters (5feet) between you and anyone who is coughing and sneezing.

3. Persons with constant sneezing and coughing should stay at home, or keep a social distant but not mix in crowd.

4. Make sure you and people around you follow good respiratory process by covering your nose with a handkerchief or tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the used immediately.

5. Stay at home if you feel unwell with symptoms like fever cough and difficulty in breathing.

6. Stay informed for the development about Coronavirus through official TV Channels Radio and genuine reports from genuine blogs and national dailies.
