The famous church in Paris, Notre Dame have gone under fire.

The word Notre Dame is a French meaning our lady and refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness of the school which many churches and chapels in France are dedicated to under this name.

Fire guts the cathedral on Monday April 15, 2019. Consuming the Dame's medieval roof structure, known as "the forest" according to Monsignor Patrick Chauvet, the rector of Notre Dame.

Historically, the 856 years old cathedral is where Henry VI was crowned and Napoleon Bonaparte became emperor at Notre Dame.

The French president Macron has pledged fundraising to rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral.
