Police Recovered Senate's Stolen Mace

The Nigerian Police have recovered the Senate's Mace. According to information, Thug led by Ovie Omo Agege, Senator representing Delta Central has on Wednesday 18th April 2018 Carted the Senate's Mace. The Symbol of Authority of Senate and automatically generated an uproars which made the house suspended their activities.

According to the Police statements early Thursday morning, the Mace have been recovered following the order by the IGP that Commissioner of Police should deploy security at the National Assembly. The Mace was recovered by police Team who engaged in massive hunt at an undisclosed point under the flyover before City gate.

The report says a passersby who saw where it was abandoned by the thug has alerted the Police team who were on Operation Stop and Search.

The Nigerian Police through the statements by the ASP Aremu Adeniran, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters have said that a discreet investigation into the incident is still ongoing to arrest and bring perpetrators to justice.
